To set up Email forwarding from Outlook to Contlo, follow the steps below:
Enable Email Forwarding on Outlook
Due to a security update on 5th October 2020, Microsoft Outlook by default disables email forwarding to an external mailbox. As a result, you might get an error message in Outlook after you have set up email forwarding to Contlo. Follow the steps below to fix this error:
- Log in to the admin panel of your Microsoft Office 365 account.
- Scroll down to the ‘Security & Compliance Center’ section.
- From the left-hand menu, click Threat Management.
- In the dropdown menu, click on Policy> Anti-Spam settings.
- Navigate to the Outbound spam filter policy section.
- Click on ‘Create new outbound policy.
- Set a name for the new policy.
- Select the Automatic forwarding option in the edit screen.
- In the dropdown menu, make sure to select the On – Forwarding is enabled option.
- Click on Save button.
Your emails will now be successfully forwarded from Outlook to Contlo's Helpdesk.
Set up Email Forwarding on Outlook
Follow the steps below to set up Email forwarding on Outlook:
- Open the Outlook account that you want to connect to the Helpdesk. Click the ⚙️ icon on the top right corner of the screen. Click View all Outlook settings.
- On the Settings window, Navigate to Mail > Forwarding.
- Select the Enable forwarding checkbox.
- Enter the forwarding address copied from Contlo in the Forward my emails to input box.
- Select the Keep a copy of forwarded messages checkbox.
- Click the Save button to complete the setup process.
